It was great to see the children today, enjoying exploring time and being curious about some of our new (and old) zones. One of our goals this term is to 'Be Curious' so we will be encouraging the children to try new things.
Some of the Pounamu learners have been working on making groupings of 5 and then 10 to make counting big groups easier. We call this "counting collections," and we use different materials to create them. This teaches us how to see groups clearly and how to arrange materials. Then we can practice counting in 5's and 10's to reach great numbers. Check out the children's groupings below!!
